Rules

  • General rules

    • All landing nets and mats/cradles must be dipped prior to fishing#.
    • Keep nets only permitted during matches ( 2 required).  These must be dipped in our net dips, left to dry out until 10 minutes before start of match.  Maximum 50lb limit.
    • For the Specimen Lake a 42” landing net and cradle must be used.
    • Barbless hooks only – maximum size 8.
    • No braided lines or leadcore leaders.
    • Landing nets must be used on all lakes and fish handled with care.
    • No rods to be left unattended.
    • All rigs must be free running.
    • Sensible pole elastics to be used.
    • Groundbait and pellets can be used but in moderation.
    • No surface baits.
    • No bloodworm, joker, peanuts, dog and cat meat.

    Bread in any form is not allowed – meat can be used but only on the SPECIMEN LAKE.

    No illegal substances to be used by anglers – this will result in a permanent ban to the fishery.

    All litter must be placed in the bins provided.

    Verbal and physical abuse will not be tolerated and will result in a permanent ban.

    All fish remain the property of Mere Lane Fishery and anyone caught removing fish from this site will be reported to the police.

    BAIT BOATS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON OUR LAKES
