• Mere Lane Fishery is a family run business situated on farmland, in the heart of West Lancashire in a small village called Mere Brow, situated just off the A565 on the outskirts of Tarleton. We are easily accessible from the M6, M58 and M61, just a fifteen minute drive from each motorway.

Our journey began back in 2003 with the opening of our first lake, ‘The Old Course Lake’.  This lake has proved to be a firm favourite with anglers young and old and has hosted many club matches over the years.

Our popularity soon grew with anglers both local and from farther afield. It was decided in 2011 that we should submit plans for a Specimen Lake to meet the requirements of the keen carp anglers. This was constructed and stocked  2012. The lake was opened in May 2013 and has proved to be extremely popular with anglers both young and old. Many ‘personal bests’ have been achieved here as you can see with photographs in our gallery section.

2015 saw the opening of The Canal. This lake is well used by those anglers who wish to fish for smaller silver fish. It has 15 specifically built pegs with bark chippings and there are also specialised disabled pegs for those who require them.

During the summer of 2016 we opened our ‘Doughnut Match Lake’ with 25 purpose built pegs including 5 pegs for the disabled. This lake indeed, is proving very popular with pleasure anglers and also for hosting club matches.

We take extreme pride in our fishery, always looking at ways to improve the facilities we can offer to our anglers. Each lake is accessible by car, parking behind pegs and we have toilets near to each lake. Many anglers comment on the location of our lakes as they are able to appreciate the local wildlife and its idyllic, peaceful surroundings.

We have also installed full CCTV coverage on our lakes for our peace of mind and for the safety and wellbeing of our anglers. This is closely monitored and patrols the lakes and boundaries of the site, 24 hours a day, alerting us of any potential problems.
